Something is Definitely wrong!!

There is something definitely wrong here! :( It's May 21 and I am sitting here in flannel lounge pants with flannel shirt! It hasn't been above 60 for several days and it gets to about 40 at night? This is May folks! Not March or October! Where is my sun? and warmth? Oh, wait! Supposed to get up to 70 on Thursday and then a little warmer for the weekend :)

I"ve been working on Bad Faerie (challenge piece for Yahoo group) and mostly on Dragon Carousel this past week. Have a challenge on one of my Yuku boards this weekend to finish page 1 of DC and (hopefully) page 2 of BF. Hope I can get them done. If it's as nice as they say, will be stitching outside! :)

I turned my mattress over yesterday and took off my heated mattress pad and this morning I was awakened at 3:25 am due to extreme seizing up of my legs, back and neck due to the coolness of my bed! I have been crippled by that all day! So tonite, am planning to sleep in sweats and turn my heated throw on medium (at least!)

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend everyone!

Sunshine Today!

There was a great abundance of sun today! So much so that it actually dried out the ground enough so I could go and cut the grass finally! It was about 6 inches tall! Not to mention how thick it is! Then I decided to edge the sidewalk so it would look neater. Turned out beautifully! Then I moved on to my flower garden and weeded that! Now, suffering from severe spasms in my feet, and extreme all over pain, but I know I have to pay the price when I over do things (I'm not supposed to be doing in the first place)
We got a new addition to the family today! Another kitty! He's about 8 weeks old, white with one blue and one green/hazel eye! We have decided to call him Bowie (after David Bowie). This was my dd's idea, I wanted to call him Bumblebee from Transformers movie. He has finally come out from under my bed, where he has been hiding most of the day. He isn't real happy with the dogs or Gizmo.
I didnt' get a whole lot of stitching in today, because it takes me so long to do the outside work anymore. Plus I had to make spaghetti sauce for dinner (love my sauce!). Did do a little on Celtic Spring, but spasms got to bad.
Plan on doing nothing but stitching tomorrow. May work on Dragon Carousel some and some more on my challenge piece, The Bad Faerie.

Good morning all!

Finally! We actually saw something which resembled sunshine yesterday! And it actually got warm, not hot, but warm too! Then, the pain started. I really hate that pain that comes in my legs when there is a front coming thru. The wind and the pain told me it was a going to be a doozy!! And it was when it got here! Loads of wind, thunder, lightning and rain! And of course, my spoiled furbaby, Rascal didn't like it one bit. He jumps on the edge of my bed evertime it thunders and growls like it's actually trying to get into the house and attack me! He is so cute.
This is my spoiled furbaby. He is my xs critic as I call him, he is all the time getting up beside me to check my progress! He is about 10 months old now and is a Border Collie and is my guard dog. No one can come to the door without my knowing about it! Even the kids, when they come home from school, know they have to "announce" themselves or he goes ballistic!! I rescued him from the pound when he was only 6 weeks old and I just fell in love with that mask!
I have 4 other furbabies as well. Gizmo (at 16 is the oldest), Muggles, EtCetera, and EDI. They are all my cats and it's really funny. Whenever it starts to cool off at nights, you can find them all on my bed! That would be because I have a mattress pad warmer and then a heated throw that usually is across my bed, and they curl up on that to stay warm. Unfortunately, that leaves me very little room for my own section of bed! LOL
Well, that's all for now! Just wanted to stop in and post real quickly and the story of the storm and Rascal seemed apropos, since it is storming again and supposed to be doing that most of the day today! Plus, since it's 5 am, needed something to do!
Have a good and productive stitchy day everyone!

My WIP Pictures!

Here are some of my WIP pictures. I don't have one yet of The Bad Faerie, since I just started her on 5/15/08. I don't usually take a picture immediately after starting! It usually takes me a few days to get around to doing that!

This is Celtic Spring by L&L. Coming along pretty nicely. This picture was taken 5/4/08 and I have gotten some more stitching done on it since then. I have the border across the top and some on the sides completed. Will definitely have to update this picture!

This is The Priestess, taken on 4/24/08! This is another one I will have to update again! With my latest stitching on her, you can start to see the arch and the sky behind her!

This, of course, is Dragon Carousel! The bling is definitely starting to show now! This was taken 5/14/08 and some of the beads are already added to the border! There is a lot of backstitching on this pattern (which is not my favorite thing to do) and loads of 1/4 and 3/4 stitches. The fabric is Gothic by Picture This Plus and looks much better than in the photo!

My Current Works in Progress (WIPs)

Okay, I warned you! Still can't figure out how to do much yet, so will try it this way! I want to show you what my current WIPs are, so I gues I will have to put them in an actual blog, since I can't figure out (yet) how to do it any other way! So here goes!

This is Celtic Spring by Lavender and Lace. I have several of the seasons still to be stitched. I need to buy Celtic Winter though. I have completed Celtic Christmas and it is very nice! I need to get the others done, so I can group them all on a wall!

This one is Dragon Carousel by Patricia Allison. I was "enabled" to buy this pattern from a lady on a Yuku board I chat on. It has some serious "bling" to it. Loads of metallics and beads. I think this has the most bling of any I have done!

This is The Bad Faerie by Mystic Stitch, with the artwork done by Maxine Gadd. I am
stitching her on black Aida 14 count, since that will cut down the amount of background stitching that would otherwise have to be done! I just started her on 5/15/o8 for a contest on my Yahoo group for Mystic Stitch! I have gotten a good start on her with over 1800 stitches in one day!

This last one is The Priestess by Mystic Stitch with artwork again by Maxine Gadd. She is stitched on 14 count cream Aida. This one I am doing the background since it has different colors and textures in it! I have gotten about 3/4 of first page completed. There are several pages in this pattern, about 10-11 I think. I really like her because of the colors and the subject matter. I love mythical, mystical, fairy and fantasy most of all!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I am currently working on and soon I will post my WIP pictures I have taken! I try to take pictures every so often and post them to my Webshots album and on my boards so everyone can see how much I have completed. Stitchers are always eager to look at WIP photos!

Welcome to my Stitchers Heaven!

Thanks for stopping by! I just started this blog, so you will have to bear with me, while I learn all the tricks of the trade. I started this so I could put my wishes, dreams, hopes and cross stitch pride here. I love my cross stitch hobby. It calms my nerves, allows me to create beautiful pieces and keeps my dream of someday owning my own cross stitch needlework store alive.
Now for my facts! I am 47 years young, married with 5 wonderful children (sometimes they are wonderful) and 3 fantastic grandsons! My children's ages are 33, 29, 22, 17 and 11. I have 4 boys and 1 girl (she is the middle child -22). I have been married 26 years this July. My dh and I went on a Caribbean cruise last year for our 25th anniversary since we never had a honeymoon or had even been anywhere without the kids! It was wonderful!
I have 5 furbabies: 4 cats- Gizmo (the oldest), EtCetera, Muggles and EDI along with my special furbaby-my spoiled rotten Border Collie Rascal. My dd has a furbaby of her own which lives with us and that is her spoiled Scottie Sholto.
I have been cross stitching now for over 35 years and still love it. Since I can no longer work due to Severe Fibromyalgia Syndrome w/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Degenerative Disc Disease of the Lumbar Spine, I have had to give up a lot of my past times and hobbies. I still work in my garden and do the yard work (mowing, weeding and such ) -even though I am not supposed to, but since I have given up so much all ready, I decided I wasn't giving that up. I love to be outdoors when it is sunny and warm! Love to sit on my front porch and stitch and listen to music or even watch DVDs!
I graduated nursing school in 1984 and was a nurse until 1999 when I had to "retire". It took me 6 LONG years of fighting to win my Disability (FMS/CFS is still not a very recognized diagnosis for SSA). When I finally won my Disability, with my back pay we decided to take a much needed vacation so we went to DisneyWorld for a week and stayed on the grounds in the Wilderness Campground in the most spectacular cabins I have ever seen! There are even street cleaners that come around the campground every morning! We had some wonderful times there!
I wish we could return to Florida not only to vacation, but to actually live there in a small town with some actual land so we don't have neighbors looking right in our house! My doctors have been telling me for some time I really need to move to a warmer climate and I am really beginning to believe them! This past winter was horrendous! I really don't think I can tolerate another winter like that one!
I am going to try to put a block on this page that shows what I am currently working on and another which will show my progress!
Until my next blog---Happy life and happy stitching!
